So, recently Facebook and many other big data platforms came under scrutiny regarding the steps they take or they ought to take to make sure that the users/visitors who use/visit their platform, their data that they collect (for…some reason) is not being used in any malevolent practice. Congress of many countries put them under oath to testify to what they’re inner practices when it comes to user privacy protection. Many countries toughened their internet privacy laws. Such cases have made the public lose their faith in these large platforms. Mine’s a small one. Yet. But I do abide by all the laws and the methods used in my website to collect user data is in accordance with the law.
So what I do with your data that you agree to leave behind in this website of mine?
Basically, not much. The reason I built this platform is showcase my creativity to…I don’t know how far I can push. And I am trying my bestest best to build your trust in me and all the things that I offer to you. My goal is to offer you people the most awesome stuff that I can work hard to offer. And eventually grow this into a pretty yuge community. And in order to do that, I just do the following with your data:
- Send you notifications based on your cookie information (there is an opt-in option for that). The notifications are usually about a new article I posted, a new announcement about my book, a new book or film.
- Send you emails, newsletters, personal notes about new articles posted this week, an upcoming new book, or an upcoming event that I would like you to be a part of as well. Any type of promotional content that I would like to send you with your consent.
- Send you a ‘Sleep tight’ or a ‘See you later alligator’ type of messages.
